        It is indisputable that India is still an  agrarian nation ,despite the country's beginning to see the computer revolution .The majority of India's rural population works in agriculture ,and allied  fields such as modern agriculture ,diary keeping ,poultry ,animal husbandry, and fishing .In India where chances are equal for men and women ,the importance of agriculture technology and engineers has grown dramatically.
   

NATURE OF THE SUBJECT

Advancements in related fields are also attempted under agricultural technology or engineering ,where the focus is on making farming practices scientific. Agricultural engineers work on a variety of projects pertaining to the requirements of farmers ,including water conservation on land ,innovative agricultural technologies ,machinery, farming, and seeds. Agricultural technology provides a scientific solution to every issue pertaining to agriculture.
                      

COURSE AND EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

B.E. in agricultural engineering, B.Tech  in agricultural engineering, diploma in agricultural  engineering is the primary course offered in this field .B.E./B.Tech programme  lasts four years ,but a diploma programme lasts shorter. Study linked to M.Tech  and then  P.hd  can also be done after B.Tech or B.E.                                  


ROUTE TO ADMISSION 

Those who have completed their 12th grade in biology, chemistry, math, or physics are eligible to apply for graduate level courses. JEE is used to determine admission to universities like IIT, and other entrance tests are also used  to determine admission to other universities. Polytechnic Colleges are where diploma courses are taught.

  NATURE OF WORK 

These professionals work areas also include the design and management of food production system, safeguarding surface water quality ,creating natural resource management systems, developing and overseeing animal production facilities ,creating agricultural equipment , etc. Professionals in agricultural engineering  also work in food processing , material handling , equipment design , environmental design ,and erosion management.


 OPPORTUNITIES

These experts  are needed in consultancy farms ,government service sectors , and agricultural  farms . The State Agriculture Centre appoints agricultural engineers to advance agriculture at the district level. Professionals are also needed for medicinal crops and their plantations in private farms .In addition to NGO work in rural regions ,teaching and research opportunities exist. You might even launch your own  business or consultancy farms after gaining experience.
